‘Commutatus’ – the Greek word for ‘knowledge or insight’ aims to provide the know-how of communicating effectively with individuals to generate support for the work you do.

We are individuals who are passionate about the work we do.

Ranjini Victor who heads Commutatus has worked with the voluntary sector in the areas of communication and fundraising. She worked with MCC – Murray Culshaw Consulting (Communication and fundraising consultants) for more than 10 years. During her service with MCC, Ranjini trained voluntary organisations in developing strategies to raise local resources and build their skills to bring out effective communication materials such as annual reports, brochures and newsletters. Ranjini also managed a communication and fundraising magazine “Raisers’ Ask” while at MCC.

Ranjini also has had experience in working with partners of large international funding agencies (Cordaid, Ader-France, German Agro Action) wherein she worked with them to establish a fundraising and communication strategy, help them implement and handhold the partners to bring out effective communication materials.

We have been in the sector for the past one year and have established a strong clientele.

We believe that the activities and achievements of the voluntary sector need to be communicated effectively to raise local resources and thus become accountable and credible. This will also carry the message to the public that they need to actively participate in enhancing the life of so many people who suffer.

We understand that each client is unique and so is their work.

We have different strategies to meet each client’s work requirements and the expertise to deliver a complete package. With this in mind, we work on two different methods:

Retainer

• We work with you on a monthly allotment of time and cost

• We act as your communication and fundraising consultant

• We meet together at the end of each month to determine the next month’s need. We also regularly keep in touch with email and phone – usually once a week to check on the progress.

• We prepare your presentations to appear before corporates and funding agencies

• We research and give you suitable Indian as well International funding agencies

• We could train your staff to raise local resources and write better communication materials

Per Project

• We provide an estimate for time and cost based on a specific project

• It could include annual report, brochures, newsletters, web design and content writing

• Train your staff/ network on communication and fundraising
